♡ Sweet Suit ♡

courtesy of aifasuitcase
Sweet Suit is the theme of my final project from local fashion course at my hometown. I didn't satisfied with this work because I didn't design a hijab friendly design again since my last college assignment. Sadly I only made hijab friendly maxi dress for my self (pic.in the middle with hijab) not for this final project. Most of my course friends design for non hijab. So it was a bit confusing moment that I regret. Well, next year Insya Allah  I'll make some collection for friendly hijab design. Yayy!

♡ Fairytale Fabrics ♡

I really miss to explore surface design on fabrics. Those are my college final assignment. Fairytale is the theme. I've done some manipulating fabric technique such as heating, steaming, printing, embroidery, stitching, embellishing even burned it up on a fire candle (but this one is so hard and I found this new technique on my own). I made 4 dresses, 2 pump shoes, 2 bags, 17 textured fabrics and about 50 experiment pieces.

The 25th anniversary Burberry celebrated their trench coat into something young and fresh. Fantastic knot and drapery framed gorgeously on this collection. I wish I can afford it! But I only can imagine with my pity illustration.

♡ Chloé Winter RTW 09/10 ♡

courtesy of Style.com and aifasuitcase
I always love Chloé since Stella McCartney. This Winter Ready to Wear 09/10 is totally hijab friendly. New designer Hannah McGibbon was a former assistant to Phoebe Philo (one of my favorite designer). The Collections represent the modesty in feminine side of the soft eighties way. In my illustrations I changed the light-weight chiffon crepe fabric into kind of silk shantung pleat. So it won't show your legs silhouette.

♡ Wedding ♡

courtesy of Kompas.com
Looking back to my wedding photos reminds me to post about Bridal. I really admire Irna Mutiara for her line Irna La Perle. Named after her name Irna and Mutiara , La Perle in French. Beautiful and astonishing! She delivered beauty through modesty for Muslimah bride's gown. She wears lot of gorgeous embellishment details and layers, which I really love her soft, feminine and elegant design. Available in Bandung, Jakarta and Dubai. Her gowns start from IDR5.000.000. She designs another line for ready to wear Up2Date and Up Line but the website rarely been up date. You can see some other Irna La Perle gowns at metaluv. Two and half months ago, I've tried some of her design but my final decision was stick to the traditional path of Javanese with the Batik and Kebaya. So I decided to design my own wedding outfit and got a tailor made it.

I love to read StyleCovered by Hana Tajima-Simpson, she made fashion tips for Bridal Guide, surely helped me out of my problem. Here are some tips from her that I read over and over again (special thanks to Hana)
♡ Get actual examples of design details etc. that you want to include
♡ Be very clear, sketch out exactly what you want and how you want it to fit
♡ Get measured, even though the outfit will be loose it’s very important that it actually fits well
♡ Talk the design over with the tailor, get as many fittings as you need until you’re happy
the most important thing is that when you look back on your photos you’re looking at the man you entrusted and shared your future with and that it was the best decision you ever made.
